GE Lighting announced a hybrid halogen-CFL contained in an incandescent- shaped glass bulb that offers energy efficiency and long life. This new hybrid-halogen CFL combines attributes of three popular lighting technologies. GE said its engineers figured out a way to nestle an instantly bright halogen capsule inside the swirl of a compact fluorescent light bulb. The halogen element comes on instantly and turns off once the CFL comes to full brightness, thus preserving the energy efficiency of the bulb. All the workings of the bulb are contained in an incandescentshaped glass bulb. “It looks like an incandescent in size and shape but it’s really three bulbs in one,” said Kristin Gibbs, general manager of consumer marketing, GE Lighting.

Electri-Flex Company has expanded their line of halogen-free liquid-tight flexible electrical conduit by introducing an EMI/ RFI shielded version. Part of the Shield- Flex™ line, Types HFSLA™, HFEMS™ and HFEMCS™ provide exceptional shielding effectiveness from electromagnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI) coupled with the halogen-free jacketing. Halogen-free conduits provide a lowsmoke, low-flame spread, zero-halogen product that is ideal for field installation in confined, public areas such as subways, tunnels, and other enclosed areas. This jacketing material virtually eliminates the release of acidic gases found in PVC products. These conduits carry a flammability rating of UL 94-VO.

IDEAL announced it has introduced the versatile 21-in-1 Twist-a-Nut™ multi-bit, dual-ratcheting screwdriver. According to IDEAL, the new Twist-a-Nut multi-bit, dual-ratcheting screwdriver features more unique fastening applications than any other tool that is designed for professional electricians, along with fifty percent more torquing power than standard ratchets. “The 21-in-1 Twist-a-Nut gives electricians the most powerful torque of any screwdriver on the market plus infinite possibilities when it comes to fastening and wire preparation,” said Bruce Hartranft, Product Manager for IDEAL.

Arlington has introduced The SPACER™, a versatile cable spacer for power or low voltage cable. The new cable spacer holds up to eight individual cables centered on a 2x4. CS14 nails on and CS14SC screws on. The SPACER provides easy installation. Users just nail or screw The SPACER to a wood or metal stud. Other features and benefits include: • Holds a single or double row of power or low voltage cables: One to eight 14/2 One to four 14/3, 12/2, 10/2 One or two 12/3 • Positions, fastens, routes power or datacom cable • Complies with 300.4(d) of NEC

Honeywell Power Products has introduced the IPGSM-COM, a UL-listed primary fire alarm communicator providing Contact ID reporting via IP (Internet Protocol) or GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) cellular pathways. While simple to install and operate, the IPGSM-COM offers a more reliable, cost-effective monitoring alternative by eliminating the communications difficulties and monthly charges generally associated with legacy circuit-switched phone lines. The IPGSM-COM is UL-Listed to provide full Contact ID data reporting for virtually any fire alarm control panel. Utilizing the Honeywell AlarmNet network, a unique triple-path redundancy provides superior connectivity for life safety systems. An IP path is used for primary communications and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) GSM cellular for back-up.

Staco Energy Products Company introduces the FirstLine® P, a parallelable three-phase Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for 80-125kVA applications. These units boast efficiencies of up to 98%, while delivering maximum availability and flexibility. True on-line, double-conversion technology is achieved through IGBT and Digital Signal Processor (DSP) control, enabling delivery of a high input power factor of 0.99, and a low input current distortion of less than or equal to 3%. Each UPS is covered by a 2-year warranty and backed by a nationwide service program with optional preventative maintenance to lower cost of ownership. The compact and reliable FirstLine P is ideal for information technology (IT) applications such as computer rooms, network closets, data centers, computer networks, critical power management requirements, and applications where a high level of available power are essential.
