installed in a solar array project. The
Cincinnati Zoo has recently completed a project
in which 6,400 solar panels were installed by
ProtekPark Solar on a canopy structure over one
of the Zoo’s parking lots. ILSCO’s
TA-300 connectors were installed in forty-five
combiner boxes which are used for electrical
distribution and act as a termination point for
each solar panel or array. This solar panel array
will generate 20% of the electricity used to
power the Cincinnati Zoo which, according to
Thayne Maynard, is “recognized as the
greenest zoo in America…this new solar array
…is the largest publicly accessible and
urban solar array anywhere in America.” |
 Greenlite Lighting has earned an
ENERGY STAR on four of its High Output LED PAR
lamps (PAR30 25 degree beam angle, PAR30 40
degree beam angle, PAR38 25 degree beam angle,
and PAR38 40 degree beam angle) as pictured in
new packaging above. Greenlite’s LED white
and multi-colored holiday strand lighting, LED
Undercabinet Fixtures and LED Desk Lamps have
also become ENERGY STAR qualified. These LED
items augment Greenlite’s existing LED
product assortment that includes LED MR16s, A19s
and Street Lighting. |
 Hubbell Wiring Systems announced a new
improved CIRCUIT-LOCK Motor Disconnect Switch
designed to enable safe, reliable switch
operation when used with Variable Frequency
Drives (VFDs) found in today’s conveyor
manufacturing environments. VFDs used in many
manufacturing and industrial environments control
the speed, torque, direction and horsepower of
motors. When disconnecting power at a low
frequency, excessive heat build-up can
potentially cause damage to the switch contacts,
preventing the disconnect switch from properly
and safely cutting off motor power. |
 Thomas & Betts announced that
its Russellstoll® MaxGard® Explosion-Proof
Waterproof Receptacles provide a greater margin
of safety by sealing components with neoprene
O-rings for environmental separation, ensuring a
waterproof seal even if the receptacles
aren’t connected. Safety is further enhanced
with a selection of 24 single-rate device
polarizations, which ensures exact voltage,
frequency and phase differentiation, preventing
connection to differently rated power supplies.

 Ericson
Manufacturing announced that its
e-Cart™ family of mobile transformer power
distribution centers are now UL Listed. The units
are listed to the very stringent UL 1640C
Standard for Design, Construction, Quality and
Testing. The superior enclosure design of
Ericson’s entire e-Cart™ line, (e-Cart
2™’s, e-Cart Jrs™ and many
custom units), impressed the UL engineers and
aided in earning Ericson’s e-Cart family the
UL mark. |
